Miroslav Novak, Subject One 2016 (video still)
HD video, single channel, color, sound, 16:9, 15’

Subject One is the first character expressing itself linguistically.
During the film, Subject One conducts monologues about the reality in which he exists. This ranges from faded memories, his perception of spaciousness, to a visit of an art exhibition.

His discourse is a search for who he is as a character and how he relates to the reality of his setting.

Objects 0,0 (ongoing since 2012)

These piled sculptures are studies for Object 1, Object 2 & Object 3 (2010).

The first characters were anthropomorphic objects titled: Object 1 (2010) and 12 poot (2012).

They appear separately in the film Retroperspectief (2013) and 12 poot (2012). In both films, the anthropomorphic objects,

are moved around by a character called Subject 0. The slow descriptive camera movement, used in both films, guides the viewer trough the space and emphasize the interaction between body-object-space. The face of Subject 0 is never visible and framed out of the image or hidden behind Object 1 or 12 poot while changing their position.
